Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier (Accounts Payable) to join a well-established and growing Finance team within a highly regarded UK law firm.

This role is based in central Bristol with hybrid working available and offers the chance to join a collaborative and forward-thinking finance function.


The Role

You will play a key role in the Legal Cashiering function with a focus on the Accounts Payable, ensuring that all external costs are processed accurately, efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.

Working as part of a supportive team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing invoices (UK & international), disbursements, expenses, and travel costs
  • Maintaining accurate Accounts Payable ledgers and ensuring compliance with SRA rules and accounting standards.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and ensuring invoices are paid within agreed terms.
  • Managing supplier records and ensuring accurate setup within finance systems
  • Investigating and resolving supplier and internal queries in a timely manner
  • Monitoring outstanding balances and proactively supporting resolution
  • Providing administrative and ad hoc support across the wider Finance team


About You

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Payable professional with experience in the legal sector.

Key requirements include:

  • Previous experience in a Legal Cashier / Accounts Payable role within a law firm.
  • Strong understanding of SRA Accounts Rules and VAT compliance.
  • Experience handling multi-currency transactions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Highly organised with effective time management and prioritisation skills
