Leeds City College are recruiting for a Teacher of Chef Skills to join our team.
As our school continues to expand, we are looking for a full-time team member who can inspire and support the next generation of chefs and hospitality professionals, helping students grow in confidence, creativity, and professional standards throughout their learning journey.

We welcome applications from both qualified and non-qualified teachers. Full training and support to attain a teaching qualification will be provided as part of the role.

What You Will Do- Deliver engaging lessons across Level 1 to Level 3 Culinary skills and professional cookery courses.
- Share your real-world culinary and hospitality experience to bring learning to life.
- Support learners to develop practical kitchen skills, creativity, teamwork, and confidence for careers in the catering and hospitality industry.
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement.
- Inspire and motivate young people to explore opportunities within the culinary and hospitality sector.
- Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring content reflects current industry trends, techniques, and professional standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners to enhance the learner experience and create industry-relevant opportunities.
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team and help inspire the next generation of chefs and hospitality professionals. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong industry experience and is motivated to share their culinary expertise with learners.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Previous industry experience within professional cookery, hospitality, or catering environments
- Experience working in restaurants, hotels or similar kitchen operations
Strong practical chef skills and up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and food preparation techniques - A genuine passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing young people
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
You do not need to hold a current teaching qualification - full training and support will be provided by the college once in post.
